Positive news from the world of aviation

Once again there was no shortage of good news from the world of aviation this week. More and more airlines are abandoning their lockdown and are starting up again. Here’s a brief overview:
Emirates
Emirates is resuming passenger flights from Dubai as of 21 May. The airline is starting off cautiously with just nine destinations, including London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Chicago, Toronto, Sydney and Melbourne.
Virgin Atlantic
Although Virgin Atlantic has been hard hit by the corona crisis, the ailing British airline has announced its summer schedule for 2021. The offer consists of 24 distant destinations from London and Manchester.
Ryanair
Ryanair expects to restore nearly all destinations from its original network as of July. The low-cost operator is assuming one thousand flights per day will be possible. Passengers do have to take corona measures into account.
Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways aims to restore regular airline services between Australia and the UK. As of 15 May regular services between Melbourne and London Heathrow via Abu Dhabi will be available.
Eurowings
Low-cost operator Eurowings will continue to expand its network throughout the month of May. During the corona crisis Eurowings had downsized to a basic service but more destinations will be added in the course of May, including popular sun destinations from Düsseldorf Airport.
Transavia
Transavia starting selling tickets for the winter season in mid-April for approximately 95% of its winter destinations. Tickets to the airline’s last ten winter destinations from Rotterdam Airport will be for sale as of Monday 11 May. The Moroccan city of Fez is a new addition to the range.
