Thalys is slowly expanding its offer
June 03, 2020
The number of international trains from and to Belgium is slowly growing. As of 9 June Thalys would like to restore 20% of its offer to operational status. At the moment there is only a single round trip between Brussels and Paris and between Brussels and Amsterdam. This will change as of next week.
In concrete terms the number of services between Paris and Brussels will be increased to five in each direction. From Brussels, two of these will continue on to Amsterdam and back. There will be one less service on Sundays. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays there will be one Izy train, the low-cost version of Thalys, in both directions between Brussels and Paris. Also, as of 15 June, one train per day will make the round trip between Paris-Brussels-Dortmund.
In a second phase from 12 July till the end of August, the number of trains will be expanded further to 50% of the usual timetable. Among others there will be 7 round trips per day between Paris and Brussels and 4 on the Brussels-Amsterdam line. Face masks are compulsory on all international trains.
